Tacrisight Eye Ointment

Tacrolimus 0.03% is an immunomodulator (calcineurin inhibitor) used mainly when allergic eye diseases are severe, chronic, or not responding to regular anti-allergy drops.

It is stronger than medicines like olopatadine or antihistamines.

Tacrolimus 0.03% Is Used

It is especially effective in moderate to severe allergic eye conditions, such as:

1. Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis (VKC)

• A chronic, severe form seen commonly in children and young adults.

• Tacrolimus reduces inflammation and prevents corneal complications.

2. Atopic Keratoconjunctivitis (AKC)

• Seen in adults with eczema or atopic dermatitis.

• Helps control chronic redness, itching, and swelling.

3. Steroid-dependent Allergic Conjunctivitis

• Used when symptoms return as soon as steroids are stopped.

• Tacrolimus allows reduction or discontinuation of steroids.
